Grand Theft Auto V is coming

5 months. Only 5 months (149 days!!!) to arrive at March 9th when a bunch of millions people will assault videogames stores all around the world.
THE Videogames  (with the big V) is coming next.

"Grand Theft Auto V" will be released on next March. But, right now, what do we know about it? Nothing special. Yes, there are a bit of news about scripts, story and graphics... but nothing really incisive.
The news is that on december issue of "Game Informer" there will be the cover. And they usually put on their first page a game tried so much to get a big preview.
Let's hope. I can't wait anymore.

It was 2008 when I bought an X360 just for walking around a fantastic New Yo... ehm, Liberty City. "Grand Theft Auto IV" was so fantastic that I played it for hours and hours, for days, for months... And not only the main game but even the 2 spin-off. In order to this I've been excited for every other Rockstar's games but after "GTA IV" anything else was fine.
"Red Dead Redeption"? Come on, I always woke up suddenly after sleeping on my horse running on that enourmous and useless desert.
"L.A. Noire"? Uff... I just slept during the loading.
"Max Payne"? A normal movie that if it lasts 1 hour and half is ok, but if it lasts hours and hours like the game becomes like stones on your balls.
They were so boring...

Once my cat came and asked me: "Wow, are you playing LA Noire? Awesome! Can I see you playing?"
This is him after 30 seconds...

So. They couldn't realize four consecutive flops so "Grand Theft Auto V" MUST be fantastic.
And with this graphics can't be a flop.
Or, at least, let's hope.
I really hope Rockstar's guys are the same who preparared masterpieces like "manhunt", "Bully" and every "GTA". They can't flop again. They can't....

Enjoy Yourself (It's Later Than You Think)

From "Everybody says I love you" (Woody Allen).
Music by Guy Lombardo.

ENJOY YOURSELF
(IT'S LATER THAN YOU THINK)

You work and work for years and years, you're always on the go
You never take a minute off, too busy makin' dough
Someday you say, you'll have your fun, when you're a millionaire
Imagine all the fun you'll have in your old rockin' chair

Enjoy yourself, it's later than you think
Enjoy yourself, while you're still in the pink
The years go by, as quickly as a wink
Enjoy yourself, enjoy yourself, it's later than you think

You're gonna take that ocean trip, no matter come what may
You've got your reservations made, but you just can't get away
Next year for sure, you'll see the world, you'll really get around
But how far can you travel when you're six feet underground?

Your heart of hearts, your dream of dreams, your ravishing brunette
She's left you and she's now become somebody else's pet
Lay down that gun, don't try my friend to reach the great beyond
You'll have more fun by reaching for a redhead or a blond

Enjoy yourself, it's later than you think
Enjoy yourself, while you're still in the pink
The years go by, as quickly as a wink
Enjoy yourself, enjoy yourself, it's later than you think

You never go to night clubs and you just don't care to dance
You don't have time for silly things like moonlight and romance
You only think of dollar bills tied neatly in a stack
But when you kiss a dollar bill, it doesn't kiss you back

Enjoy yourself, it's later than you think
Enjoy yourself, while you're still in the pink
The years go by, as quickly as a wink
Enjoy yourself, enjoy yourself, it's later than you think

And now dance:

Discovering Frederick Winslow Taylor

Maybe you don't know his name but maybe your job is organized by his theories.
Frederick Winslow Taylor has been one of the most influential person of the Twentieth Century.
Have you ever seen "Modern times" by Chaplin? Here it is, Chaplin made that movie to say "no" to Taylor. The same situation Chaplin did about Hitler in "The Great Dictator".

So, who was this guy?

1856 - 1915
- His parents were engaged in social activities while, going against his family's ideas, he had more extreme tendencies (the opposite: he was right to racism and stereotypes typical of the time)
- In college he discovered his talent as an inventor:
- A spoon for tennis racket
- A harness that could awoke him at night when he turned his back to sleep: he thought nightmares depended by sleep positions.
- It was believed an innovator (in the sense of reconfiguring existing elements)
- Apprenticeship: He entered in a little industry in Philadelphia asking to have low pay in exchange for being able to change often his role to learn all phases
- After the apprenticeship: In 1884 he joined the "Midvale" (a factory that produced tracks at first, and weapons after) as vice-captain
- Degree: he continued his career coming to Chief Engineer with the responsibility for improving the performance of his sector
- Here begins his work of reorganization of job, despite of many difficulties (his former colleagues at the rowing)
Time after time, however, manages to bring his theory
- He had stayed at "Midval" for 5 years, until 1889 because he could not do more career there
- Join a different company to test his theory in other companies
- In 1895, he read the essay "A piece rate system" in front of the Association of American engineers and it was a great success
- He expanded and put on a team. Among them there was a guy, Thompson, who warned him about the "human variable" when the workers rebel
- From 1897 to 1901 he worked at "Bethlem Company" which produced armored plates for the Navy
- He clashed with the "human variable" and changed some things, like the "differential"
- Up to 1915 he began to make conferences at Universities and other places...

Elements of Taylorism
- Soldiering: the laziness of the workers. For him it was the great problem plaguing America and England and he did not understand how it was possible that this was allowed.
→ people deliberately plan to do less than they can
- One Best Way: there is always a better way to do something and that was the standard for the calculation of the differential
History: Before him people threw 12 tons of cast iron.
He managed to throw 47 per day
He succeeded analyzing everything, including the function of the muscles as every muscle must have a rest period he calculated the exact time for rest
Taught it to 8 people but only 1 (a Dutch guy named Schmidt who was half handicapped) succeeded. He fired the other 7
Result: fewer workers but more productivity
Increased the office of management which was now full of people who designed the various task management

- Collaboration: in its ideal world, management and workers had to work together for the good of the company. That is, the workers had to be happy to work hard (because he did not understand the "Soldiering")
- Task Management: the "brain" of the company wen from local workers to the central department office where each day management determines how much production must be carried out by workers
- Differential Piecework: it is one of his fundamental elements. The management decided the amount of production, if the workers could it, well, otherwise they were being paid less than before.
History: before, a worker produced five pieces a day for a fee of 50 cents per piece (ie 2.50 per day).
Taylor was convinced that it could produce 10 pieces and so worker could earne 3.50 per day and not only 2.50.
If he produced less than 10 pieces he took 2.25, less than before
- Chronometrical studies: each task was broken and timed. Then the worker had to do the amount of work required by this study made it by management
- Costs: you could pay more thanks to the differential, but you even gain more through increased production and cutting workers (I do not need any more as many hours a worker does the work of 10 workers than before). It also does not need skilled workers but just the cheap labor.

Operation of Taylorism
- Observe the basic work process
- Categorize all the tasks and the Times
- With trial and error trying to find a way to speed up any job
- Search the worker suitable (if there is one that refuses gets fired)
- Use the differential to control the production

All we need is "lebenslangerschicksalsschatz"

The new season has started. Finally cause I couldn't wait anymore and, as usual, it has started like a bomb.
We left our heroes at the Barney-Robin wedding and we start by there, from that night but authors has decided to tell us the story happened from the moment with Barney and Quinn in the airport to the wedding.
But, ok, this is the story of the series, so... go on, search it and star to watch it!

Now, I wanna talk about "Lebenslangerschicksalsschatz", the german word about love.
In 8x01 episode we have Ted and Victoria go back to her wedding for leaving a note where she explains her reasons. But they find Klaus (the Victoria's ex) during his escape. So Ted ask him why he wants to break up with Victoria and he explains to him:

"Lebenslangerschicksalsschatz" is not something that develops over time. It is something that happens instantaneously. It courses through you like the water of a river after a storm, filling you and emptying you all at once. You feel it throughout your body, in your hands, in your heart, in your stomach, in your skin… have you ever felt this way about someone?
- I think so
- If you have to think about it, you have not felt it.
- And you're absolutely sure you'll find that someday?
- Of course. Everyone does eventually... you just never know when or where

Of course, it isn't a German word. It doesn't exist but its meaning is so powerful and so harmful that it should. And not only in German language, even in every other languages.

"Love", "Honey" and others are so old if we confront them to "Lebenslangerschicksalsschatz".
So, if you love somebody, if you feel that your guy is the best, is the one. Don't say him: "You're my love". But go to him, looking at his eyes and say: "You're my lebenslangerschicksalsschatz".

ALL WE NEED IS LEBENSLANGERSCHICKSALSSCHATZ
Lebenslangerschicksalsschatz, Lebenslangerschicksalsschatz, Lebenslangerschicksalsschatz.
There's nothing you can do that can't be done.
Nothing you can sing that can't be sung.
Nothing you can say but you can learn how to play the game.
It's easy.
Nothing you can make that can't be made.
No one you can save that can't be saved.
Nothing you can do but you can learn how to be you in time.
It's easy.
Chorus:
All you need is Lebenslangerschicksalsschatz.
All you need is Lebenslangerschicksalsschatz.
All you need is Lebenslangerschicksalsschatz, Lebenslangerschicksalsschatz.
Lebenslangerschicksalsschatz is all you need.
Chorus
Nothing you can know that isn't known.
Nothing you can see that isn't shown.
Nowhere you can be that isn't where you're meant to be.
It's easy.
Chorus
All you need is Lebenslangerschicksalsschatz (All together, now!)
All you need is Lebenslangerschicksalsschatz (Everybody!)
All you need is Lebenslangerschicksalsschatz. Lebenslangerschicksalsschatz is all you need (Lebenslangerschicksalsschatz is all you need).

The importance of a new name

Anyone with a social network has noticed that the status is in third person and this (What is XXXX thinking / doing / interesting...), for many, may seem strange. But is it? Maybe for Facebook but the "third person" is a device essential for a journey of personal growth because it destroys the ego or personality that we self-built day after day to defend us. Every day we wear masks to be accepted by others, say the role of angry, some nice, good, the compassionate, the sensitive, the reactionaries, creative, and so on. And 'as for the clothes we wear: we try to choose and wear clothes that we can universally to bond with others. The world is wearing the shirt? And we wear the shirt. The world wears a miniskirt? And we will wear a miniskirt. Then there are those who go to get noticed on the contrary: the world wears a miniskirt? And we wear the pants. Everything is made to be noticed by others: for better or worse, as long as we speak. With the ego is the same with the result, however, that we go to work on the subconscious and eventually we end up believing it, we identify ourselves with those masks. This gives rise to the "way I am", "I can not change", etc.. with the result of positions taken, pride, strife, struggle based simply on these masks. But they are only masks, we had to wear dresses and that over time we are ever closer. To this day there comes a sense of dissatisfaction, that want something more, that feeling that the world is much more than what we have been painted in years. Is there a way to get out and reconnect with what we really are and cast off these clothes? Of course there is a long but made of ego shoulder, painful, which must also pass to relive those past situations, thanks to self-ego, we jumped at the foot 'of the illusion of having overcome and then discovering that in reality you are just crowded situations of situations. A first step, however you can do and we start from the name. What is your name? Simply a label, a badge. It 'as the actor who by dint of playing a role in a soap ends up confused and not know who is in reality. The shortest step is to really talk in third person. Who is that funny, sharp, unlucky, lucky, happy, sad etc..? I? No, it's him, is what the name X. At first it may seem strange, but over time unpleasant episodes that would destroy us first become almost comical: it's like to be rude but I'm not the character in a movie I'm watching. Do not touch me so much. And 'the shortest way because in reality it takes a little game but it is also one that requires more time. And it is a sort of step do-it-yourself. The "status" of FB, however, may get the idea. Saying "I'm angry" has a value. Say "Daniel is angry," he has another. Who is this Daniel? The longer wheelbase but is the name change and break the mechanism. "Daniel" is happy, sad, happy, loser, lucky, etc.. etc..? Change, give it another name, a nickname, for example, "Majnu". "Majnu" is a new label, has no features and you can begin a path deeper and perhaps more immediate. It is no coincidence that all the great mystics, from Buddha to Jesus and so chose to change his name to his disciples. Why, for example, Jesus said to Simon, who became the day on which his disciples would be called Cephas (or Peter)? Why, again to be among Christians, the popes change their names? What then is the same concept that is the basis of the "nickname" on the web. As "Judge Daniel" I'm going to be what they are in everyday life. How "Pincopallo76" I can be anything. Here, this situation can be applied to everyday life, with enormous benefits. The name change is an important step. Sure, it's a first step that can be done. The mystics will suggest later that are even harder (for example, Jesus: "I do not think that I have come to bring peace on earth: I came not to send peace but a sword. I have come to separate the son from father, daughter against her mother, the daughter of the mother-in-law, man's enemies will be those of his household "Matthew 10.34. Or Buddha:" Leave aside the concepts of good and evil, give up your family "Dhammapada 267) that are obviously understood and explained without taking literally their sentences but have a very profound sense. Even in this case is identified with something that has nothing to do with us. With a dress. With a mask. But speech is a different and broader. To this I would like to thank FB status, and this thing in third person. It 'only a step, a small step towards a deeper contact with ourselves.

How Facebook has killed opinions

Once upon a time there was a world where people went to square ready to fight for their ideas, just armed by the force of their opinions. They were ready to die for save their ideas.
This has been for millenniums.

One day Facebook arrived on the web, the modern square. At first everybody was happy because finally you could write everything and you could share your ideas with others. Awesome. At first.
Now that kind of "fire" has died. The "I like" buttom has killed every opinions.

Try it. Put on your state an idea. Everything is ok. What you think about a movie, a politicians or your neighbour who breaks your balls with his noise. Everything. Try it.
What will you have in response? Nothing. A lot of "I like".
Anybody who answers you to say his agree or his disagree. No, just "I like".
Sometimes you can find one poor guy who answers you. Wow, fantastic, finally you can answer him, you can start a discussion and maybe others will join it and maybe you can discuss about your opinion. No, a lot of "I like".
Cause push the "I like" buttom is easier than think. And this scares me. Cause I can have bad or good opinions, it doesn't matter, and I can improve my mind discussing them with others. If I don't discuss them I'm convinced I'm right, my ideas are fine, are the best. And maybe they aren't.

Discuss is the best thing. Discussions drive you into the fantastic world of your mind. A discussion is your personal "whiterabbit" and you have follow it into its lair.

Write opinions. Answer. Scream. Fight. But don't let you to just put "I like". It's a stab on your own head.

5 Reasons to Love a Chinese Massage

Definitely I must say: I like Chinese massage. Well, I should say I generally like massaging, feeling smooth hands, sometimes feeling a rude elbow rolling on my back or legs, feeling my body completely oiled as a sardin, wow, that's awesome.
So, it doesn't matter the massage, everyone is fantastic. I go on every kind of them: Ayurvedic, Deep, Joint-release, Californian, Stone, Lymphatic, Trager, Shatsu, Tantra and so on. Really, I'm addicted to massage and I went in so many places to have 'em, but at last I must admit I like Chinese massage

I don't want to talk about the technics. Generally they do the Tui-na, that's one of the important part of Chinese Medicine, but I want to talk about their hands, the atmosphere, the pampers.

Life is not only run, stress, work, scream, catharsys and so on. At first, Life is a pamper. Write it on your iPhone's screen

So, this is the top five:
1 The price
At least in Rome, Italy, you can find a Chinese massage well-done with 40 euros for 1 hour. Generally you spend 60 euros or more for a normal massage (nothing special) in an Esthetic center where you stay in a little room beside another one with an old Miss who's having hand care and talking about her life. Thai massage, for example, starts from 80 euros and more.
With just 40 euros you can touch the sky for 1 hour.

2 The chat
Where you are having a massage, inside the room you have smooth lights, soft music, the aromatic smell of a candle, the right climate... and outside you have the city. Traffic, clacson, people that scream, and people who just chat. In your beatitude you are disturbed by the old Miss who explains that her husband doesn't have sex with her for months or years or that there is the crisis and she doesn't have money to pay he bills. Why do people use this time as a Psychotherapy? This is a moment where you must relax your mind. If I want to talk about the crisis I go to a business seminar not a Massage Center.
In Chinese Massage Centers they talk, yes, but they talk in Chinese. So, if you're a Chinese maybe you understand, otherwise you don't understand any words and so your attention can stay with you.
And you don't realise that maybe she is talking about you...

"This is a bit painful"
"Don't worry, I do it for your well"
"What the...?????? Aaaahhhh"

3 Urban Legend: the sex
If we go to the web and we google "Chinese Massage" we find escorts and announces for a massage with "happy ending". What does it mean? The "happy ending" is when at the end of the massage the girl asks you if you like to go over. Yes, on that way.
Generally they mean masturbation but maybe they can accept even sex. You decide the price and if it's ok for her you go to have sex. Basically, it's a negotiation.
Is it true and so common?
Not really. I have been having massage for years and I've never found a masseuse who asked me for a "happy ending". Never. In Chinese or in another language. Well, I generally found ad advice "It's forbidden to ask any kind of sex or we call the Police".
Is the "happy ending" just a Urban Legend for being excited in front of the computer screen? No, it exists because there are a lot of people who ask in forums if it's normal and if he's normal because he has accepted. There are also forums in which people give reviews about some particular masseuses, her skills, what she does, what doesn't and so on, but generally this is the kind of Massage Centers that will close in a while.
Are you looking for sex? My advice is: call an escort (Masseuse or not) but don't think of Sex Massage, don't hope that every woman that touches your body wants to have sex with you. Just let her doing her job in giving you a moment of relax and enjoy the massage.

"Are you stressed? I know the best way to let the stress goes away. How do you wanna pay for it?"
I go to a Massage Center to let my job away, not for developing my negotiations skills...

4 Chineses overwhelm you
If you've had a Tui-na massage you can understand me. You can decide if you wanna a massage soft or hard. Well, if you want to experience the hard one, well, good luck. You could go out from the Centre with a body completely destroyed... I'm joking.
There is a little pain but it's a good pain: 5 minutes later you feel amazingly. Completely relax. But during the Massage you could suffer because the masseuse touches you hardly, with her (or him if you are a girl or a man who likes the man touch) hands, pushing your body with her fingers, her elbows, her knees or feet: yes, feet, because they climb up the table for a little part of the massage. Fantastic.
If you ask it soft, instead, things are different. The whole time is like a little ship on a calm sea during the sunset. You feel her hands moving softly and kindly that you will think: "Oh, I'd like it won't finish".

"Feel how soft is my hand..."
5 Quality
When we say Chinese our mind goes to a lot of products that copy our products but with a worse quality. It's not the common way, of course, but sometimes we see "Made in China" products there are exactly like others made in UK, Italy or elsewhere, even if the quality is not so good (to let the price down). Well, Chinese Massage is not this kind example. Of course there are good masseuses and bad masseuses, but like any other product or service. Maybe it's only been my experience, but I have been massaged by many Chinese masseuse and everytime I found a good quality. And, I repeat for those that are laughing about it, no, I don't mean happy ending. I have never found that situation.

This is a book I advice you to better understand this world:
The Chinese Way to a Long and Healthy Life

Swimming with Sharks

You think you know it all, don't you? You're 25 years old. You're a baby. You don't know shit. Look, I can appreciate this. I was young too. I felt just like you. Hated authority. Hated all my bosses, thought they were full of shit. Look, it's like they say. 'If you're not a rebel by the age of 20, you got no heart, but if you haven't turned establishment by 30, you've got no brains!'

Because there are no storybook romances, no fairytale endings. So before you run out and change the world, ask yourself--

What do you really want?

Don't come preaching to me about your idea of what's fair. Because you're no martyr here. You're no hero. You're just a fucking hypocrite. You're just like any other punk kid out there, looking for a way in, any way in, and you need me. What, you think someone just handed me this job? I've handled the phones. I've juggled the bimbos. I've-- I've put up with the tyrants, the yellers, the screamers. I've done more than you can even imagine in that small mind of yours. I've paid my dues--

Dammit, it's my turn to be selfish. It's my turn.

See that's the trouble with your fucking MTV, microwave dinner generation. You all want it now. You think you deserve it just because you want it? It doesn't work like that. You have to earn it. You have to take it. You have to make it yours.

But first, Guy, you need to decide what it is you really want.

You wanna go back to your shitty little existence? Go ahead, leave. There's the door. No one's stopping you. You could have left any day, but you stayed. So let's forget the Dudley-damn-do-right crap. Because out here its kill your parents, fuck your friends, and have a nice day! Look, I don't make the rules. I play by them. What, your job is unfair to you? Grow up, way it goes. People use you? Life's unfair? Grow up, way it goes. Your girlfriend doesn't love you? Tough shit, way it goes. Your wife gets raped, and shot, and they leave their unfinished beers--

Catherine: when Tetris meets manga

The cover. You see a girl who looks at you with those eyes... with visible bra-straps, her red cheeks... what would you think of? 'Oh, yeah, this is the psychological horror adventure game I heard about'

I've been waited for this videogame for years. I still remember the first time I read the news about: "a new erotic game, where a boy cheats up her girlfriend, where there will be sexy pictures, sexy story, sexy..." and so on.
Come on, I though, would it possible a videogame with a sexy plot?
Now, it's arrived. I played it. I finished it.
There's no sexy stuff. Nothing.

In description you can read: "psychological horror adventure game".
It's not psychological.
It's not horror.
It's even not adventure.
Maybe, it could be a game. Could be, but in 'Tetris' idea of game.

The story is: a lunatic boy, Vincent, one of those who prefer to drink beer with his friend dreaming about fantastic girls, motos or other. One of those who live in a bar.
This boy has a girlfriend who's completely different, squared, workaholic, with her head on her shoulders. Her name is Katherine.

I'm Katherine, you're fiancée. Ok, I'm beautiful, charmed, I'm successfull, I'm smart, I'm the best but, anybody knows why, I stay with you, such a failure guy, without a future, without an idea about what the life is. Or better, what the life is outside the bar where you spend the 99% of your time.

One day he meets another girl, Catherine, who's completely different than Katherine. She's funny, she's sexy (I mean, she has hair, eyes, look and behaviours a bit sexy).

Don't be excited. This is the maximum you'll see on the videogame. If it's enough for you, well, maybe you have a problem with your sexuality.

One morning he finds out he had sex with Catherine.
The same day Katherine finds out to be pregnant and announces it to him.

Stop. This is the plot. And here the story finishes. Cause, ok, put this story in a child hand and he will write exactly the followed story of the game. Evertyhing is easily comprehensible. No shocks, no coup de theatre, nothing.

And this is the story that we can see it watching a manga. Interactive manga? No. A normal manga.

The gameplay.
There is a mountain of blocks, a lot of blocks. You're at the basement and you must arrive at the top just using the block to climb. A block after another, one after one, you must avoide some obstacles to arrive at the top.
There are a lot of these block mountains. At least 30 but maybe they're more.

At first it's funny to find the right way to climb up. At first. Maybe the second. Even the third. At the fourth you start to doubt it. The fifth you look at yourself in a mirror and you see a strange face. At sixth you ask yourself: 'where is the game?'. Be quiet. This is the game. For a lot of times.

This is the game. You must find the way to go from the base to the top climbing these mountains.
Stop.

So. The game is: a manga for 5 minutes. A mountain. A manga for 5 minutes. A mountain. A manga for 5 minutes. A mountain. And so on. For at least 10 hours. Ah, yes, the game lasts 10 hours. Somebody from the web complaints about the duration but, you know, 10 hours of manga plus mountain.

Ah, there are few curiosities. Nothing important. Just some curiosities like:
- when you play with the block you're dreaming and you're a sheep. Yes, a sheep, with the horns and others. And all the others people you see in this phase are sheep. This should mean that people who cheat on their wives are like sheeps.
- at the end of each stage the computer will ask you a big moral question like, 'would you habg out with the fiancée of a friend of you?'.
Has it any importance for the game? No. It's just for the online. Ahahhah no no there's no playing online. There is a statistic: you can see how people all over the world has answered to that question. Only this. Or better, your answers will charge your karma: depends on it you will have a different final. There are 8 different ones.
- When you're in the bar you can drink and every drink gives you an information about that. For example: what is the difference between Cognac and Brandy?
Just curiosities.

Do you like Tetris? You like it. Do you like manga as Lamù? You like it.
Do you like every other kind of videogames? You don't like it.

Nostalgia vs. Creativity 3-0

John Lennon, Michael Jackson, Elvis Presley and all the other music stars would be happy to hear their songs are best sellers. No, not in 50', 60', 70' or 80', no, now, in 2012.
Last news gives us a panoramic view of a strange situation: according to Nielsen, the old music republished has sold more than the new ones. The old musics republished in cd, mp3 and vinils work better. 51% against the 49%. In Italy is the same story, even worst: 65% old and only 35% new.
So, Lady Gaga? Coldplay? Maroon Five? Nothing. In the youngers' Ipods it's easier to find Beatles or Pink Floyd than Katy Perry.

Maybe John's happy. People continue to dream peacy thanks to his music. In 2012.

But the issue is another one. It doesn't matter what people listen, the question is... why?
Let's try to answer.

1) Music is not only a bunch of notes. Music is the powerful way our mind use to write informations. Those informations are our events, our life, our memories. And thanks to the music we can easily remember an event from our past.
The first love? 'No limits' by 2Unlimited.
The first kiss? "Short Dick Man" by... i don't know.
The first sex? "Smack my bitch up" by Prodigy.
Ok, maybe my favourite music is not the best... ehehehe... but do you understand?
Why our teenagers should prefer "Hey Jude" or "Heal the world" or "Love me tender" as the soundtrack of their first kiss?

Answer: nostalgia is better than creativity
A song from the past has a story. Listening it you can dream a world, you're able to go into a specific world. A past world. For example. Close your eyes and play a song like... you know... "Imagine". Suddenly you see hippies, flowers into guns, John Lennon who says 'Make love don't make the war".
Now.
Close your eyes and play "Call me Maybe", this summer success: what do you see? Nothing. Maybe dark because of your eyes closed or maybe the memory of this afternoon while you were reading "50 shades of Grey" on the sands or in the subway.
This is the point: a song from the past remember you something. A song from the present doesn't remember you anything.
Nostalgia vs. Modernity (that means Creativity): 1-0
Cause this means remember an event is better than creating a new one.

2) Once upon a time the top ten was made by artists like Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones, Deep Purple, Acdc, Queen, Patti Smith, Lou Reed, Police and so on.
Everyone of these has changed the music. For their political involvement,  for their talent, for their new way to make music, for their creativity.
Now the top ten is composed by Rihanna, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga and so on. Everything seems a copy. Everything looks like something already heard. Not original, funny music, yeah, but anything else.

Answer: new music is rubbish.
The moderns are just a copy remastered. Infact, it's easy to hear musicians tell they have myths from the past.
So, Beatles remastered are better than 'One Direction'

Music is emotion. This is from Woodstock... it wasn't music. It was story. Could we say the same for a Rihanna's concert like... this?

Is she touching herself? Is she masturbating? I don't know. But this is from a concert of her.

3) Especially during the teenage is important to create our own personality. So, for having an independence, for feeling nice and smart it's easy to go over what others like.
Come on, it's cool say 'Oh my gosh, do you really listen to Carly Lae Japsen? Come on, she sucks. She's just a copy. Patti Smith or some other Woodstock's stars are better'.

Answer: new artists aren't credible and fashioned.
They work a lot on their public image, on their style (Lady Gaga... uff.. she doesn't know what else to do, she's done everything possible to catch the general attention) but the misterious alone around the legendary myths from the past is very difficult to destroy.

Wearing meat. Ok. What's the next step? Walking with her pajamas o naked? Already done.

No memories, poor quality and no credibility.
What should modern music do to have new chances to survive? I don't know. Surely, the past is better and this should be a big alarm for the major. They shouldn't think about piracy, they should think about quality, creativity, a new start. Or accept that past is better. It's already happened for jazz & blues music (where there are thousand artists who produce new cds, but the best sellers are still Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman and so on) or Classic music (how many orchestras? How many composers? And every camera in the world plays Mozart, Beethoven Tchajkovsky and so on: is it possible anyone has composed something better than "The Nutcracker"?). The same will be for pop music.

Or not?
